Maven Wave is a consulting firm specifically focused on digital and cloud-based solutions, using their expertise and hands-on approach to help their clients grow exponentially. As their reputation and their team grew, the marketing team saw the value of video content to bring their services, culture and skill to their online audience. INDIRAP started by tackling their immediate need - scaling their own team to match the growth in business they were experiencing in 2018 and 2019. We developed a foundational Culture & Recruitment Video, “Life As a Maven”, supported by a series that put the spotlight on each of their departments. After wrapping this initial package, we move into preproduction for a Brand Overview that effectively introduced the brand to a new audience. Since establishing these evergreen pieces, INDIRAP has continued our partnership with Maven Wave, providing them with short videos to respond to current needs, from tradeshow presentations to New Leadership Introductions.
Brand Overview
This hero piece was designed to not only give viewers a good understanding of Maven Wave’s capabilities, team and reputation, but to truly build momentum and excitement around the work they’re doing that pushed viewers towards the next step of engaging their team. Because we’d just wrapped on our recruitment series, which utilized natural interview style narratives, and to achieve that powerful tone we were aiming for, I suggested using a scripted voice over for this piece.
Research: My first step was a solid script to provide a blueprint for our story. I lead conversations and research with the Maven Wave team to understand their business, goals, and all the key information they wanted to include in their message. I worked with them to identify the “star” employees that they wanted to showcase with the visuals, and how they would be best used to accurately reflect their roles and daily work.
Preproduction: I then got started on the scripting process - turning their material into a compelling narrative, even adding clever patterns and visual cues throughout the copy. After script approval, I developed a full storyboard to help the Maven Wave team envision the final product, which integrated live action shots, including aerial, timelapse and hyperlapse, with motion graphics. I organized our production day, scheduled with essential leadership and employees, prepped the rest of my on-site team, and made sure Maven Wave was ready and excited for the plans ahead.
Production: I guided the in-office shoot, working around the still active office’s daily work and ensuring all of our planned shots were captured in the best way possible. I paid special attention to leaving room for motion graphics and capturing a variety of shot styles, from framing to movement, to keep the content, all shot in one location, feeling fresh and lively.
Their Brand Overview continues to be their best performing piece, and has inspired other INDIRAP clients to elevate their marketing plans to include a compelling piece like this one.
